Joey Scouts are encouraged to express themselves creatively, through games, stories and craft activities. From building monsters and spaceships from scrap items, to growing plants from seedlings and singing songs together, all Joey Scouts develop a strong sense of belonging and an understanding of the world around them.

Venturer Scouts is a do-it-yourself mix of fun, adventure and personal challenge that brings together like-minded young people (male and female) aged 14 to 17 from all walks of life. When you’re dealing with your toughest years in school and making decisions about your future, Venturer Scouts offers vital breathing space. You can focus on friendship and personal growth, while picking up valuable life skills along the way.

As a Venturer Scout, you may find yourself exploring wilderness Australia, camping above the snowline or diving on coral reefs. You could be abseiling into a limestone cave or climbing a sheer rock face. Perhaps you’ll learn white water kayaking or ride your mountain bike on an expedition across real mountains.

A group of Rovers is known as a “Crew”. Each Rover Crew is different, consisting of anywhere from a handful of members to 50 or more. Most crews meet weekly. A Crew’s activities are planned and run by the Rover Scouts themselves – which means they are tailored to the requirements and interests of members.

Every Crew is different. Each has its own traditions, special interests and personalities. A Rover Crew runs itself, with an elected Crew Leader and executive.

Rover Scouts enjoy helping others, having a great time and taking on new challenges. You’ll need a ‘give it a go’ attitude and you’ll be rewarded with some serious fun.

Leaders are crucial to the success of the Scouting Movement.  As a Leader you will have access to a wide variety of resources, an opportunity to give back to the community, and the experience to educate Youth Members in the values and skills most important for being a good citizen. As a Leader you will achieve satisfaction from helping Youth Members set and achieve their own goals, while being there to help them when they fail and encourage them to continue. However, you will find that your proudest achievement will be building a strong bond of trust and friendship with the Youth Members.
